Maintaining accurate on hand quantities is essential to making your Point of Sale system run smoothly. More accurate ordering, balanced accounting, tracking shrinkage, and the ability to calculate inventory value at any time are just some of the benefits of having an accurate database.

The Inventory Control module of Substruct Utilities gives you the power to keep your inventory accurate. It has valuable tools for fixing inventory errors, tracking under- and over- stocked products, and calculating minimums and maximums based on sales history.

Negatives

Using the Negatives section of Inventory Control, you can search your product database for any items that have a negative quantity on hand. The Adjustment History for each item can help you determine why the quantity is wrong, and correcting the count is as easy as the touch of a button.

Promo

Have a sale coming up? The Promo section of Inventory Control can display all items in an upcoming promotion, and help you make sure you have enough inventory in stock.

Min/Max
Using Inventory Control in conjunction with Computer Assisted Ordering

By using the Min/Max section of Inventory Control, the computer can automatically calculate the minimum and maximum quantity on hand for each product in your database. You can then use the Ordering module to generate an order based on this information.

• Min/Max uses a formula you design to determine how much product the computer will order based off of sales history.

• It analyzes your sales history and suggests order amounts.

• Automatically predict future sales by looking at last year’s sales and predict seasonal trends before they happen.

Reports
  Understock

This report shows you items where your current stock level is lower the the Minimum. The minimum can be determined by the computer (based off sales history) or you can set it manually.
  Overstock

The report show items that you are overstocked on. This helps you determine what inventory to liquidate or move to other locations.
  Uncounted items

When performing year end inventory or weekly cycle counts, this report helps you to monitor items that are "on hand" according to the computer system, but that have not been counted since a specified date.
  Shrinkage

The Shrinkage reports helps you monitor and track adjustments to inventory, whether they be from theft, damaged goods, or items being stocked in the wrong location.
