Substruct Knowledge Base

Once Substruct Utilities has been installed on your server it can be installed on many other computers all sharing the same data. Follow these steps to install Substuct Utilities on a client computer.

Note: You may only export orders and run the receiving wizard from the computer that is running the main Substruct Utilities installation.

 

To Install Substruct Utilities on a Client:

• Step 1: Share the drive where main the Substruct Utilities is installed (usually C).Make sure the users of the client computers have read and write access to the Substruct install folder. That folder is usually located at C:\Program Files\Substruct Utilities.
• Step 2: Using Windows Explorer Neighborhood, browse to the share created in step 1 using the servers IP address (ie. \\192.168.111.2\program files\substruct utilities).
• Step 3: Locate the Set Security.exe file and double click on it to run it. 
• Step 4: Once Set Security completes, locate Substruct.exe in the same folder as Set Security.exe.
• Step 5: Right-Click on Substruct.exe and go to ‘Send To’ and then select ‘Desktop (Create Shortcut)’
• The installation is now complete. To access Substruct Utilities, click on the shortcut on the desktop.

Note: If you map the server path to a drive letter (for example, ‘x:\program files\substruct’ instead of ‘\\server-ip-address\share-name\program files\substruct utilities’) Substruct Utilities WILL NOT work correctly. “Zebra Print DLL cannot be registered” is an issue you make experience if the client is setup incorrectly.
